Since you posted your fic (which I read, even though it's not in a fandom I follow because friends try and support friends even if they're in a different fandom and it sounded interesting), I read a few more Voltron fics because why not (sorted by Kudos on AO3 because I'm not crazy), investigated it for potential triggers on doesthedogdie.com, & solicited opinions from IRL Voltron-watching friends on dramatic tension and overall tone/positivity to see if it might be appropriate to watch in my fragile household. Now to bring my proposal to the rest of the household for their opinion. I'm hoping for a favourable outcome :)
Overall it's a good show and I highly recommend it. It has had a couple of moments that made me want to throw things at the screen *cough Season 7 cough Bury Your Gays cough* but aside from that it's been a really fun ride and boy oh boy the crew knew exactly what they were doing when they made alternate realities canon but never mind that.
The fandom has had its, uh... issues. Which is why I've mostly stayed away from it up till now. But I figure fuck it, I have to walk on enough eggshells IRL, I'm not going to sit on a fun fic series idea out of fear of some tungle dot hellion doxxing me because they don't agree with my headcanon or whatever. :)
My watching proposal has been accepted, we just gotta find a good time to start watching! My BFF got some bad family news this week so we've been very unstable which is never a good time to watch something new :| Hoping maybe next week we can give the pilot a go!
I watched a few episodes while I was away as a last check & it seems pretty fun :) I'm looking forward to being able to watch more eps at some point :)
You absolutely shouldn't sit on a fun fic series! I've been following your story & it seems pretty great so far :) Extra kudos for smashing out 20k words so fast!
Season 6 has the best comic relief episode by far. Just trust me on this. :D
(also shit man I didn't realize how little fic there really was for, y'know, the one canon gay male pairing so I guess I have a Duty now, lol. also that duty may or may not have involved horfing out about 5K words of smut over the last few days but never mind that)
Yeah I was looking at the Adam/Shiro tag on AO3 the other day and there wasn't very much of it (and a lot of it was, uh. Well. Let's politely say could have used a lot of work and leave it at that, shall we.) so I'd say you absolutely have a Duty. And given what I know of fandom in general, I can't say they'd be sad about 5K of smut *cough*
